Too young to retire, but too old to find a new job after closure of the San Nicola di Melfi production site.
This is the situation of one thirty workers from the former Auchan, in the center of a meeting in the town hall between the mayor Giuseppe Maglione and the Filt CGIL.
As Rainews reports: “Several issues emerged from the meetingriticity, but also possible solutions.
‘On the one hand, after pre-election discussions with the department’s offices – explains the general secretary of Filt Cgil Luigi Ditella – there could be a regional fund intended to accompany former workers towards retirement – on the other several companies have expressed interest in investing in the industrial area of Melfi following the establishment of the complex crisis area’.
These would be obliged – in order to access the tenders, for a total of 100 million – to hire staff who have remained unemployed.
Among the critical issues is the failure to include the mobility formula in derogation in the crisis area.
In fact, this would allow the liquidation of shock absorbers also for those workers employed by companies that are no longer in existence, such as Auchan.
