A meeting was held today in the prefecture in Frosinone for the joint examination of the measures to prevent and combat forest fires to be implemented in view of the summer season.

During the meeting, an analysis of the planned initiatives was carried out, including the cleaning and maintenance of vegetation and the protection of sites of landscape, archaeological and cultural interest, especially in the case of tourist places.

The meeting was also an opportunity to take stock of the resources and devices put in place and to underline the need to always guarantee the maximum exchange of information between all the subjects involved, maintaining constant contacts both in the alert and in subsequent intervention management activities.

The need to strengthen collaboration between the various components of the civil protection system was also shared, to strengthen the system’s response capacity and limit the risks to the safety of citizens in the event of an emergency.

Taking part in the meeting – chaired by the prefect Ernesto Liguori – were, among others, the Regional Director of Civil Protection Emergency and NUE 112 of the Lazio Region, the mayors of the municipalities where the Mixed Operational Committees (COM) envisaged by the civil protection plan, the representatives of the Police Forces and the Fire Brigade, the bodies that own roads and infrastructures, including ANAS, ASTRAL, Autostrade per l’Italia, Rete Ferrovie dello Stato, ENEL.
