The City of Udine motorbike rally warms up the engines: the programme

The national motorbike rally City of Udine is back.

Return the the most anticipated national motorbike rally in the region. From Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd Junein First May squarewill be held there 6th edition of the national motorbike rally “City of Udine”, an event dedicated to two-wheel enthusiasts and beyond. The rally was organized by the historic Motoclub Morena and stages a three days dedicated to the discovery of Friuli and its wonderful landscapes, history, art and food and wine.

The event is open to all types of motorbikes, to members of the Italian Motorcycle Federation – in fact it represents the 3rd selective round of the FMI Italian Motorcycle Touring Championship, the 5th round of the Veneto 2024 regional Motorcycle Touring Championship and the 10th round of the tourist trophy regional Friuli Venezia Giulia 2024 -, but also to enthusiasts of all ages, tourists, curious people and citizens.

“The Motoclub Morena, together with the other regional motoclubs, is the reigning Italian motor touring champion – states Sergio Ammirati, president of the Motoclub Morena and organizer of the event -, a title won last year at the Trofeo delle Regioni in Vico Equense, Campania. With the motorbike rally that we organize in the region, in the city of Udine, which has grown year after year both in terms of collaborations, participation and public success, we aim to develop aggregation and knowledge between the different national and international motorcycle realities above all, contribute significantly to the promotion of the territory under multiple aspects: cultural, historical, landscape, food and wine“.

“The event represents a strong attraction from a tourist point of view, a moment of aggregation and entertainment for citizens, and at the same time enhances urban spaces by strengthening the tourist appeal of the city – continues Ammirati –. We are happy to welcome, again this year, numerous consensus also from outside the region and to have started numerous collaborations, starting with those with the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and local institutions thanks to municipal patronage – and concludes -. After numerous collaborations with third sector bodies such as Andos and Progettospettiaut Fvg, new this year is the collaboration with the Moto Emergenza Fvg association, a voluntary association founded in 2020 and made up of motorcyclists whose mission is to bring concrete help to people needy, disabled, immunosuppressed, elderly, solving small but big daily problems such as withdrawing medicines; the distribution of basic necessities; the collection of documents/reports from hospitals and clinics”.

The inauguration of the event with the authorities will be Friday 21 June at 6pm in Piazza Primo Maggio. Then, until 8pm, there will be the first welcome for motorcyclists.

The weekend program.

The day after, Saturday 22 Junefrom 10am it will be possible to register for the Friulian stop on the tourist tour (departure at 11am and return at 5pm) of approximately 130 kilometers between the moraine hills and Central Friuli. The motorcycle tour includes five stages with two refreshment and lunch stops. After leaving Udine and reaching the locations of Pagnacco And Colloredo of Monte Albano there will be a first stop to admire the Friulian landscape. Restart direction Codroipopassing through Basilian, where there will be the second stop at Villa Manin and for the visit of the Vendrame – Vignis del Doge winery. The group will leave again for Nespoledo di Lestizza where there will be a lunch break at the sports field as part of the Sports Festival. In the early afternoon the motorcyclists will arrive at Mortegliano to admire the tallest bell tower in Italy and then close the tour in the starry city of Palmanova where there will be a historical re-enactment organized by the “Città di Palmanova” Historical Group. Return to Udine. In the evening, music with the Mist Party Band, with the best hits of the 90s/2000s.

Sunday 23 June at 11, however, there will be motorbike tour as a tribute to the city in which all members will participate in a real event parade of about 40 kilometers which will unfold from the streets of the historic center passing through the municipality of Tavagnacco, Reana del Rojale and Tricesimo. The motorbike tourists will start from Giardin Grande and travel along Viale della Vittoria, Piazzale Osoppo, Viale Volontari della Libertà, Viale Tricesimo up to the roundabout of the Terminal Nord commercial park, Viale Giovanni Paolo II°, Piazzale Dora Bassi roundabout, Via Molin Nuovo, Strada Provinciale 38, up to the roundabout in Remugnano, via Centrale, via XXIV Maggio, via Vittorio Veneto and via San Giorgio. Here a stop will be organized by the association “Tracks and wheels to learn about history” with a visit to military vehicles and a convivial moment at La Vecchia Officina. Then departure to return to Udine in procession. Motorcyclists will take via San Giorgio towards SS13, via San Giuseppe, viale Tricesimo, SP51, via Guglielmo Marconi, via Michelangelo Buonarroti, via Galileo Galilei, via Tavagnacco, via Feletto, viale Tricesimo, viale Volontari della Libertà, viale della Vittoria with arrival in First May square. Finally, at 1pm there will be awards ceremony of the 6th national motorbike rally “Città di Udine” with greetings from the authorities.

The stop is organized by the association “Cingoli erucchie per le storia la storia” with a visit to the military vehicles and a convivial moment at La Vecchia Officina.

As regards Piazza Primo Maggio throughout the weekends there will be stalls selling motorcycle clothing; exhibitions of new, used and vintage motorcycles; dragsters, Vespas, fiftys and custom motorbikes, trials, pit bikes, driving courses for children and well-stocked food and wine kiosks and live music. Over the course of two days a will also be hosted gazebo of the ANA Section of Udine Cussignacco Group to help raise funds for the construction of their new headquarters. During the day alone Saturdayhowever, will be present the Ripuliamoci Challenge association with the initiative “Let’s move towards a more sustainable world”, an environmental cleaning and awareness event open to all. In the morning from 9 to 11, ecological walk to clean up the center from abandoned waste and from 3pm creative workshops for children aged 3 to 12 with readings, games and much more.
