The councilors of the PD group of Palazzo Campanella intervene through a press note, after the report that the accounting magistrates sent to the Citadel of Catanzaro and to the Council.
“The centre-right continues to ride the electoral campaign for the European elections, describing a Calabria that doesn’t exist and amazing reforms that would revolutionize a region that, instead, for all parameters, remains at the rear in terms of quality of life. This time, the Court of Auditors is bringing Occhiuto and his men back down to earth, having reviewed the regional laws approved during 2023, noting an infinite number of problems and critical issues to which the regional offices will now have to respond”.
“Among the critical issues reported by the Court – continues the note from the Democrats – the one relating to the law with which support was given to the Calabrian airport system is striking, with an allocation of 1 million and 500 thousand euros as reimbursement of the expenses incurred by Sacal for the consolidation of the air routes of the Calabrian airports”.
“The Court asks for clarification both on the criteria for quantifying the expense and on its coverage. Also in this case – say the demos – we had invited the regional government to be cautious, remembering that Sacal cannot use the Region as an ATM, regardless of the objectives it wants to pursue. The Court then also pointed the finger at the exception to the ceiling for healthcare hiring and on the financial coverage relating to the reform of the reclamation consortia”.
“Naturally – concludes the note from the PD group – we are waiting for clarifications from the regional offices, but we cannot fail to point out, once again, the superficiality and unscrupulousness with which the centre-right is governing the Region, risking causing damage that could have significant repercussions in the immediate future.”
