Some water balloons, eggs and flour and some remember the dead friend killed with poems, balloons and dedications. The last day of school at the Gassman high school in Torrevecchia was not like that of other institutes: teachers, staff, students gathered at Dominique Green Park, in Primavalle, to remember Michelle Causo, the 17-year-old who was stabbed to death at the end of June last year and her body abandoned near a rubbish bin in via Stefano Borgia, a stone’s throw from the Gassman. The school she attended.
Her classmates, in essence, dedicated the school year to her, the first they lived without her. Moments of silence, poetry readings, such as “If I don’t come back”, then the words of Michelle’s teachers who created a moving and passionate portrait of the girl. Also present was Andrea Montanari, president of the School commission of the XIV municipality.
However, the school director Vincenzo Lenzoni was notably absent: according to some of those present during the year he would not have authorized any celebration for the girl, “due to the investigations”, he said. “We believe instead that he in no way wants to associate this girl’s bad story with school”, is the thesis of those who today would not have missed this appointment for anything in the world.
