The route of the Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti has been revealed, the third round of the 2024 Italian Major Events Championship scheduled in Cortina d’Ampezzo from 18 to 21 July 2024. The event is, as always, organized by the Automobile Club Belluno in collaboration with the Automobile Club of Italy, of the ACI Historic Club and includes 3 days of competition which, starting from the jewel of the Dolomites, that is the renowned ski and social resort which is Cortina d’Ampezzo, will have a prologue on Thursday, when the crews on their extraordinary cars with timeless charm will cross the Alto Adige Dolomites on Friday and the Belluno Dolomites on Saturday. Specifically, the route includes a total of 526 km for three days of competition: the 42 km prologue is scheduled for Thursday 18 July at 6pm, starting from Corso Italia in Cortina. The first stage of 273 km is scheduled for Friday 19th which will take the crews to Lake Caldaro in Alto Adige, while the second stage of Saturday 20th, of 210 km, will touch the most fascinating Dolomite peaks of the Belluno area, to conclude the competition.
To the fascinating route, 90 timed trials and 8 average trials are added to enrich the 2024 edition of the Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti.
The 2023 edition crowned the crew composed of Mario Passanante and Alessandro Molgora on a 1937 Fiat 508 C. With them on the podium Alberto Aliverti / Stefano Valente on a 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Ss Zagato, second, and Marco Gaggioli / Andrea Pierini on Fiat 508 C from 1937, third. In fourth place Patron / “Clarke” on a 1925 Bentley 3 Litre, followed by Fontanella / Covelli on a 1927 Lancia Lambda Casaro. From sixth to tenth place, in order: Loperfido / Corneliani; Stone / Stone; Bisi / Cattivilli; Belotti / Plebani; Sisti / Gualandi.
In the Legend category, Prandelli / Pasotti (1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet) won, ahead of Segale / Segale (Ferrari 328 GTS) and Colombo Guerrucci (Porsche 911 2.7 Targa). The Tributo category instead saw the success of Mozzi / Bianca on a Ferrari 458 Spider, followed by Vergamini / Fabrizi on a Ferrari 488 GTB and Sangiovanni / Sangiovanni on a Ferrari Roma. The Concorso d’Eleganza was awarded to three authentic jewels such as the Maserati A6GCS, the Alfa Romeo 6 C 1750 SS Zagato and the AC Bristol.
