GENOA – Everything is ready for the Liguria Pride parade along the streets of Genoa. The traditional event is scheduled for today, Saturday 8 June. The parade with floats, banners and the participation of associations and citizens starts from via San Benedetto (concentration from 3pm and departure at 4pm) and will wind through: via San Benedetto, via Andrea Doria, piazza Acquaverde, via Balbi, piazza della Nunziata, largo della Zecca, gallery Giuseppe Garibaldi, piazza del Portello, gallery Nino Bixio, piazza Corvetto, via dei santi Giacomo e Filippo, via Serra, via de Amici, via Fiume, via XX Settembre with arrival in the square De Ferrari with the final speeches from the stage and with the presence of BigMama. Among the floats in the parade there will also be that of the Ecuadorian community which brought together the Latin American realities.
In the meantime from June 1st opened the Village Pride at the Luzzati Gardens, in a week with around 50 events: from the exhibition on the art of Shibari to the stand up of Le Recensioni non Requeste, passing through the Bigmama concert, the Silent Disco, the showdrag, the Theater show dell’Ortica, playful moments, GenderOke and the many Village Kids workshops for boys and girls.
This year’s theme is ‘queer fury’: “We are furious – explain the organizers – because at a national level the attack on non-binary and trans young people and their families continues, in recent years the Municipality and Region have attacked rainbow families, the Zan DDL, the health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and women” . Vannacci’s position and the Pope’s recent sentences also end up in the crosshairs.
Many topics were covered during the meetings at the Luzzati: from those linked to kinky sexualities, reflections on how to overcome toxic masculinity, HIV, queer feminism and anti-Southernism to overcome colonial legacies. Among this year’s guests there will be: Ayzad, Virginia Niri, Sara Fregosi, Isa Borrelli, Unsolicited Reviews, Viola Lo Moro, La Malafimmina, Carlotta Vagnoli, Karem Rohana.
