the 12 million euro ecological mega-plant inaugurated

An investment of 12 million euros for a plant that will produce 4.2 million cubic meters of gas per year, enough to feed 4,000 families, and which will generate 26 jobs, including related industries.

These are the numbers of the new mega-plant in Candela, created by the Belagri company, based in the Sub-Apennine municipality. This plant combines ecology and energy, using pomace, manure, livestock residues and natural soil improver which acts as fertilizer as fuel.

The inauguration was presided over by engineer Paolo Arrigoni, president of the GSE, the national body that regulates the energy market in Italy. Arrigoni underlined the innovative character of the Candela plant, defining it as cutting-edge in our country. The ceremony was attended by representatives of “Ghisolfi e Corradi”, leaders in biomethane plants in Italy; “Prodeval”, experts in refining biogas into biomethane; and “IGW”, an environmental, energy and construction consultancy company, which will verify and certify the environmental sustainability of the plant.

The initiative received the applause of the mayor of Candela, Nicola Gatta, and the deputy mayor, with responsibility for the environment, Pasquale Capocasale. The regional representative of Legambiente Puglia, Salzedo, also blessed the project. The Foggia MP of the 5 Star Movement, Giorgio Lovecchio, expressed his appreciation while participating in the inauguration of the plant.

Il Mattino Di Foggia reports it.
