The night, it seems, brings advice. The driver of the motorbike involved in the accident on Wednesday evening in via Marconi with a Mobike showed up at the local police offices on Thursday afternoon. The boy, an eighteen-year-old, after the collision with the rented bike, driven by a twenty-three-year-old, instead of providing assistance to the fallen girl, immediately walked away. And the calls from the witness, who apparently had also tried to chase him to make him stop, were of no avail.
The girl was seriously injured in the collision: she was immediately rescued and was urgently transported to the Maggiore hospital, where she was admitted to intensive care. Yesterday, her condition improved and the three-year-old was transferred to semi-intensive care. The eighteen-year-old, having learned of the seriousness of the accident in which he had been a part, probably felt a jolt of responsibility. And so she decided to spontaneously present herself to the local police, who were already working on the images taken by the video surveillance systems and would soon have managed to identify the ‘pirate’.
Also thanks to the statement released by the boy, the officers were able to partially reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, which had no witnesses and was therefore not yet clear. According to what the young man said, the bike and the scooter were both traveling along Via Marconi towards the center when, approximately at number 26, near the intersection with Via Riva Reno, they collided sideways and the cyclist fell onto the road. the asphalt, while the eighteen-year-old continued his run. In the next few days, the local police will continue to investigate the exact dynamics and clarify the reasons why the boy decided to continue after the accident. His position is now being examined, but it cannot be ruled out that, at the end of the investigations, in addition to negligent injuries, given his behaviour, the boy may also have to answer for failure to provide aid.
