This is what emerges from the first data from the Interior Ministry published on the “Eligendo” portal and relating to almost all sections. The last time the European elections were held over two days was in 2009: on that occasion the turnout at 10pm was 17.8%, almost three percentage points less (20.5%) than the previous round election, in 2004, when voting always took place over two days. In Calabria for the European elections, turnout at 11pm was 11%, with Cosenza in first place in terms of attendance with 14%, just below the national average. Followed by Vibo Valentia with 10.64% and Catanzaro with 10.31%, then Crotone with 9.74%, last Reggio Calabria with 9.43%. The figures for the municipal elections were higher with 21.84% of Calabrian voters showing up at the polling station.
