Since 2010, the National Fire Brigade has equipped itself with some Mobile Vehicle Inspection Centers in order to directly provide
to the technical checks of the vehicles supplied and in particular for vehicles over 35 quintals such as those used for rescue, issuing suitable documentation certifying the inspection.
Thanks to the “mobile inspection centers”, currently supplied to the regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Sardinia, Calabria, Lazio and Sicily but deployable throughout Italy from one provincial command to another, the National Corps has the possibility of periodically verifying the efficiency of its fleet, reducing inspection times and also obtaining significant savings in economic resources.
In synergy with the Central Machinery and Equipment Office reporting to the Central Directorate for Logistical and Instrumental Resources of the Fire Brigade Department, the second interregional edition took place in the week from 3 to 7 June at the Multifunctional Fire Brigade Center of Calabria of the qualification course for officials of the National Fire Brigade with the aim of providing the professional qualifications of Technical Manager by acquiring greater knowledge of the vehicles supplied to the National Fire Brigade as well as competence on the functioning of the mobile inspection vehicle.
The training activity divided into theoretical/practical modules saw the participation of 17 student officials from the regions of Calabria, Basilicata, Puglia, Campania, Sicily and Tuscany. Among the theoretical modules, in addition to the topics relating to knowledge of the software in use in the revision and testing line and the interpretations of the data obtained through diagnostic equipment, of particular importance was the module completed by a civil motor vehicle engineer on aspects of the discipline legal of the auditing service.
At the end of the training period, the students took an exam, chaired by a commission of qualified experts, with the aim of verifying the achievement of the educational objectives.
