The alarm was raised by the uncles and the educator who was responsible for the meeting between the mother and her five-year-old son.

The woman, in fact, as planned, showed up on Thursday 6 June in the center of Aosta to meet her son who had been entrusted to his maternal uncles since April 2023.

At 11.30, according to what emerged, the woman left with her son and made an appointment three hours later.

But at 2.30pm all trace of the mother and son was lost, with the woman unreachable.

Mother wanted by police

The child, a Gambian citizen like his mother, had been removed from the woman and entrusted to the local social service, then placed with his maternal uncles, with whom he had been living for over a year.

The woman stole it and lost all traces, moving away from the area where the meeting was scheduled. The police, informed of the episode, immediately started looking for the two.

It is not excluded that the woman may have already left the Aosta Valley with the aim of going abroad.
