Mayor Costantini’s condolences: “We will keep in our memory his courage, altruism and generosity”

The Mayor Jwan Costantini and the Municipal Administration, dismayed, express their condolences for the passing of Claudio Zaccagnini.

Mayor Jwan Costantini and the Municipal Administration learned with dismay the news of the premature death of former Giallorossi goalkeeper Claudio Zaccagnini. Close to the family in these hours of great pain, they remember him with emotion and regret.
“We will keep in our memory Claudio’s passion for football and the colors of Giulianova – underlines the Mayor – but above all his courage, altruism and outbursts of generosity. In 2018, rightly, he received a plaque of merit for intervening to the rescue of a child who was electrocuted in Piazza della Libertà. He was, then, an exemplary citizen. And today we remember him like this: a young man with a heart of gold who will be missed dearly by everyone.”

Last February 4, during the pre-derby between Giulianova and Teramo, in via Cupa, in the Giulia area, there were clashes between the two fans which led to several arrests.

On this occasion Claudio Zaccagnini was also arrested on whom the judge had imposed the obligation to stay but today the sad news.

The man was found lifeless in his home in via Marconi. The police and 118 intervened immediately. The relevant investigations are underway.
