He was released from Padua prison in January 2024 after having served a five-year sentence for multiple sentences including that of having attacked, robbed and raped a prostitute in the province of Treviso in 2014. On the evening of 28 April, the 44-year-old originally from province of Como, however, was responsible for a new and brutal attack against a 25-year-old Albanian woman in the municipality of Villorba.
The news
As reconstructed by the carabinieri, the 44-year-old approached the young prostitute in via Roma in Villorba, at the intersection with via Piavesella. Having agreed upon a paid sexual service with the young woman, the man took the girl to an abandoned field not far away. At that point, however, madness began: the man wrapped the young woman in a sheet covering her face and upper body, immobilizing the 25-year-old with a lace at waist level to block her arms and duct tape over her mouth. to stop her from screaming and asking for help. At that point the 44-year-old lit a lighter in front of the girl’s eyes, threatening to burn her alive before stealing her bag with 350 euros inside, a phone and documents. At that point the girl managed to escape by asking for help from a passerby who found her in a state of shock, immediately calling the police.
The investigations
The girl was only able to tell the police that the man was aboard a red Fiat Punto. After sifting through the cameras in the area and searching for the car in the DMV databases, the military identified the suspicious car outside a shop in Villorba in recent days. The car was registered to the 44-year-old’s mother, who had also provided false personal details inside the shop so as not to be found by the police. However, given the conviction for the same type of crime, the military managed to close the circle on the son of the woman who owned the red Punto. Resident in the province of Belluno, the 44-year-old was staying with a relative in Silea when the police, after various stakeouts, managed to stop him thanks to the help of the firefighters called in for support since the man had barricaded himself in the house . Arrested for multi-aggravated robbery, the 44-year-old was taken to prison in Santa Bona. To identify him, the recognition by the 25-year-old Albanian was fundamental: as soon as she saw the photos of the man, she recognized her attacker, bursting into tears.
