The investigations into the black box of Angelo Onorato’s car
As reported by ‘La Repubblica’, on the morning of May 25, the Flying Squad investigators asked the Range Rover technicians to extract the data from the black box of Angelo Onorato’s car, so as to reconstruct all its movements in the hours preceding his death.
The black box has a GPS that records the movements, stops and opening of the doors and which will allow us to reconstruct the entire route taken by the husband of MEP Francesca Donato.

What Francesca Donato said to the police
To the police, Francesca Donato said she had found one door open upon arrival in Viale Regione Siciliana (where the husband’s body was found): the rear door, driver’s side.

The cops found one strap on the ground, next to the Range Rover, identical to the one that Angela Onorato had around his neck and which suffocated him. Did the zip tie fall on Angelo Onorato after opening the back seat? Or did something else happen? The doubt remains, even if the investigations carried out up to this moment, as we read again in ‘La Repubblica’, would make the belief than the architect committed suicide. The reason, however, is not clear.
The last hours of Angelo Onorato’s life
On the day of his death, Angelo Onorato was apparently serene and smiling, as always. He had gone to pick up his brother-in-law at the airport, then stopped with him in a bar on Viale Strasburgo, next to his shop. At 10.45 he was already alone and went to Viale Regione Siciliana Nord Ovest, in front of the old abandoned fire station: he remained there for about 10 minutes before leaving. And then come back.
The stretch of the old barracks is a “blind zone”, but before and after there are two cameras, which allowed us to reconstruct all the cars that entered and left that stretch, including Onorato’s car.
Inside the car, everything appeared in perfect order to the Scientific Police technicians, with no traces of reactions to a possible attack.
