Yesterday the event officially ended in Kamnik (Slovenia). Veronica’s Cup 2024 archery, an event held from Thursday 30 May to Sunday 2 June and valid for the world ranking which will be used in a few weeks to assign the last two team passes (for both men and women) to the Olympics Paris.

Italy, already certain of presenting itself at the Games with 3 men and at least 1 woman, wants to complete the work and will therefore try to qualify the entire women’s team on the field through the World Pre-Olympic in Antalya (4 places available) or alternatively with the repechage through the ranking. In this sense, the Slovenian event of the last weekend did not change that much, in fact the Italians had only one result available to be able to move up in the rankings: victory.

Unfortunately, success did not come for the trio composed of Tatiana Andreoli, Lucilla Boari and Chiara Rebagliati, defeated in the semi-final by Spain (who then lost the final to Ukraine) and subsequently able to beat Germany in the shoot-off in the play-off for 3rd place. Same placing for the men’s team formed by Marco Galiazzo, Francesco Gregori and David Pasqualucci, who dominated the final against Slovenia after losing the semi-final against Great Britain.

On an individual level, the Italian movement archived the good performance of Chiara Rebagliati, who won the tournament by beating Romanian Madalina Amaistroaie in the final in the shoot-off after having also met her compatriot Lucilla Boari in the quarterfinals.
