In an extraordinary session of the Bergamo City Council, Atalanta received the Gold Medal, celebrating their historic victory in the Europa League. The ceremony, full of emotions and applause, saw the participation of players, managers and authorities, all united to pay homage to the team.
GASPERINI’S RETURN
Gian Piero Gasperini, visibly emotional, interrupted his speech to the applause of the packed room. «We understood what’s behind us….» he said before emotion overwhelmed him. The honorary citizenship awarded to him in 2019 was renewed with this ceremony, reflecting the affection and admiration of the people of Bergamo for their coach.
MANAGEMENT IN THE FRONT ROW
Sitting next to the precious Europa League trophy, Atalanta managers, including Luca and Antonio Percassi, Steve Pagliuca and the mayor Giorgio Gori, actively participated in the ceremony. Antonio Percassi underlined the importance of ending the season with one last victory on Sunday, strengthening the identification between the city and the team.

Mayor Giorgio Gori praised Atalanta’s impact on the city, while Gasperini spoke of the unique bond between the team and the fans, becoming emotional again.

Captain Rafa Toloi thanked the fans for their constant support, dedicating the cup to all of Bergamo. Steve Pagliuca and Luca Percassi also expressed their pride for the results obtained, with Percassi recalling how Atalanta made many people from Bergamo dream.
