Extremely serious road accident at the Rosignano motorway toll booth in the Livorno area. Three dead and seven injured. According to what we learn from 118, among them there would also be two children aged three and six. On the A12 the section between Rosignano Marittimo and Barriera di Rosignano is closed.
The reconstruction
From a very first reconstruction by the police, a car arrived at the toll booth at high speed, rear-ending another car which was stationary and would then remain in the crash a third car was also involved. Two of the cars also overturned in the strong impact, ending up against the toll booth which was damaged.
German spouses among the victims
They would be two German spouses, occupants of the car that hit the one stopped at the toll boothtwo of the people who died in the accident, while the third victim is a boy in another car involved in the crash. “Shocked by the images of the frightening accident that occurred in the early afternoon of today at the Rosignano motorway toll booth on the A12, the President, on behalf of the entire Legislative Assembly, joins the families of the victims, expressing his deepest condolences and closeness to those of the people injured” says Antonio Mazzeo, president of the Tuscany Regional Council. “The toll, still provisional, is very heavy and the president is in contact with the mayors of the area to closely follow the evolution of this tragedy”, he says.
