The need for a separation between Zach LaVine hey Chicago Bulls, which has been talked about for more than a year, has become huge during this season, with the definitive break between the parties and the inclusion of the former Timberwolves winger on the trade market. Between the demands of the franchise and the player’s injury, however, no exchange materialized, and the situation will arise again in a few weeks.
According to what was reported by NBC Sports Chicago, the chances of a reconciliation are close to zero: there is a desire for change on both sides. However, there is no queue at the door of Chicago’s front office, partly due to obvious market dynamics and partly due to the very onerous contract that LaVine can use until the summer of 2027.
For this reason, the Bulls will be forced to abandon their initial requests, giving up their ambitions of obtaining something of value in exchange for their star. At this point the prospect could see them accept even just a so-called ‘salary dump’ which would allow the franchise to start almost from scratch in the short term.
Be careful, because from this perspective LaVine could become a low-cost opportunity for several franchises.
