Venice, 2 June 2024 – The little girl was as beautiful as the sun Elettra Friselle, 18 monthswho died in Padua hospital where she had been admitted on Friday evening in desperate conditions. Suffocated by a plastic cap which he had ingested while he was at home, on the Lido of Venice, and according to initial information he was playing with a bottle. The parents, in desperation, they tried everything to save the little girl.
According to the reconstruction of health sources contacted by telephone from Qn.net, the little girl was brought by parents at the Lido emergency room at 7am on Friday morning. The Venetian doctors succeeded to remove the plastic cap but the little girl’s condition was desperate.
According to what has been reconstructed so far, the Treviso air ambulance was called first, but the vehicle had a breakdown. A quarter of an hour later he arrived the second helicopter, this time from Padua. Which however he failed to do take flight due to the weather conditions. Electra has arrived at the Padua hospitalin the pediatric resuscitation department specialized in the most difficult cases, between 11am and 12pm on Friday. But not even those specialists managed the miracle of saving her life.
“Domestic accidents are the most frequent cause of access to the emergency roomup to cases of infant death, for the pediatric age, between 1 and 8 years”, recalls Annamaria Staiano, president of the Italian Society of Paediatrics. The teacher remembers the importance of the Heimlich maneuver, which would have been practiced on Electra by her father. “Unfortunately – explains the specialist – with a bottle cap the outcome is complicated. But it must always be done, pulling with both arms firmly backwards and upwards. To be repeated 6 to a maximum of 10 times.”
