Regional table tennis championship for journalists: Mencaroni wins again

The “Aldo De Santis” sports hall in Terni hosted the ninth edition of the table tennis championship for journalists. The event, organized by the Umbrian group Ussi, under the supervision of Terni Table Tennis and its president Zafferino Mancini, returned after a year’s break.

The title went to the Perugian Michele Mencaroni (Sportperugia) who reconfirms himself as regional champion: this is his sixth triumph. In the final round, he got the better of the Bastiolo Roldano Boccali (Il Giornale di Bastia Umbra) and on the other Perugian, now stationed in Rome Alessandro Allegra (Radio 2 Rai).

After the preliminary rounds, the participants competed in three further rounds to assign the podium, fourth place and seventh place respectively.

This is the final ranking in detail.

  1. Michele Mencaroni (Perugia, Sportperugia)
  2. Roldano Boccali (Bastia, Il Giornale di Bastia Umbra)
  3. Alessandro Allegra (Perugia, Radio 2 Rai)
  4. Claudio Contessa (Terni, Lega Umbria press office)

Ussi Umbria thanks Terni Table Tennis for once again making the structure, home of the federal technical center of Fitet, available at the same time as a training session for professional athletes, thus allowing the tradition of the tournament to continue.
