First the voluntary collision, then the threats and finally the kicks and punches to the car in which the woman was travelling, who shortly before had not given him the right of way by changing lanes. Minutes of ordinary madness for a 55-year-old man, recognized thanks to the surveillance cameras that immortalized the various moments of his attack.
The facts date back to the end of May and an Italian citizen believed to be the author of the eventful episode that occurred in Via Carducci ended up being reported by the men of the Flying Squad of the La Spezia Police Headquarters.

That day, when changing lanes, the woman had failed to give way to a van that was already in front of her, forcing the driver to make a sudden maneuver to avoid her. The man behind the wheel then began to chase the car, reaching it a few hundred meters ahead, stopped in traffic, and rear-ending it. Not satisfied, he got out of the van, starting to insult and threaten the woman, hitting the glass of the car with his fists.

Frightened by the disproportionate reaction, the woman driving the car tried to escape the attack by moving away, but due to traffic she was chased and reached on foot by the man near the first traffic light, where he started kicking the bodywork of the car.

Once the green light went off, the victim finally managed to leave permanently, contacting the emergency number “112” and then going to the police station to report the incident.

The investigations launched by the Flying Squad, thanks to the analysis of security cameras and the collection of statements from some witnesses, have allowed them to gather useful elements to trace the driver of the van: as mentioned, he is a fifty-five year old, already burdened by previous police convictions, who was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of La Spezia for the crimes of negligent personal injury attributable to the rear-end collision, threats and voluntary damage to the car. The man’s position is now being examined by the judicial authorities for a detailed analysis of his conduct and responsibilities.
