Cittanova, meeting with the theme “Existential turning points and technological challenges”

“Existential turning points and technological challenges” is the theme of the meeting scheduled for Monday 28 May at 10.30 am at the Cine-Teatro “Gentile” in Cittanova. The initiative organized by the Rotary Club of Palmi with the patronage of the Municipality of Cittanova is in line with the project “Creating hope today”. At the beginning, greetings from the President of the Rotary Club of Palmi, Lawyer Maria Stella Morabito. The speeches are scheduled by Maria Rita Acciardi Past District Governor Rotary International 2100 and member of the Commission of the inter-district award “Legality and culture of ethics”, by the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Palmi Emanuele Crescenti, by the Prosecutor Santo Melidona and by Maria Zappia, lawyer and editor of the online magazine “Mangialibri”. The appointment on Monday 28th will develop through two significant moments, to be seen as a perfect synthesis of Rotarian action aimed at creating and developing an ethical conscience in young people. In the first part of the meeting there will be a presentation by the students of the “Guerrisi” Scientific High School of the works with which they participated in the “Legality and culture of ethics” competition promoted by Rotary with the aim of involving the young generations on the topic very current in artificial intelligence. The second part includes a meeting with Paolo Toscano, author of the novel “Un ponte sull’abisso”, the story of a girl who, in the most complicated moment of her existence, makes a courageous choice by distancing herself from her family which is made up by individuals accustomed to living illegally. This change allows it to build a bridge towards a future made of legality and respect for the rules. The reading of some passages of the book by the students of the IIS “Gerace” is planned.
