It took place the meeting at Mimit to analyze the progress of the employment reallocation plan for Almaviva workers. The manager of the Mimit crisis area, Matteo Losego, urged the individual territories to promptly report the status of the project envisaged by the active policy actions for Almaviva Contact workers.

Slc Cgil, Fistel Cisl, Uilcom Uil, Ugl Tlcwhile appreciating the organizational work carried out so far, underlined that «no expected results have been achieved to date» and they found that no worker found employment o has been included in training courses aimed at introducing work relocation, against a period of time that has already elapsed which will expire on 30 September 2024.

In all locations, the phase has been concluded in recent days profiling of workers, to indicate the level of employability. The Sicilian Region has gone a little further in its project, having already prepared and disseminated the public notice of policies active towards the public and private labor market. «But also in Sicily – say the unions – no employment opportunities have yet arisen. We reiterated what we said in the press conference in Palermo, urging the institutions to implement the reallocation proposals already shared.”

Almaviva communicated that intends to reopen starting in Junewith a retraining and conversion path towards Information technology, aimed at approximately 70 employees on a national basiswho have not been given the opportunity to apply for participation in the past, i.e. employees belonging to former Trenitalia, Amex, Alitalia, Vodafone contracts and those who for various reasons found themselves in a condition of long absence.

«The proposed IT training course – explain the unions – provides the same duration as the previous ones and obtaining Linux certification. Almaviva has specified that it does not make any commitment regarding the hiring of retrained workers, postponing any further evaluation until the end of the process”. In light of the above, and since the time available is almost overthe Sicilian and Palermo trade union organizations SLc, Fistel, Uilcom and Ugl «they believe the involvement of the president of the Sicilian Region is essentialcalled upon jointly to guarantee the political coverage necessary for the governance of the processes represented”.
