The mangaka’s masterpiece has sold over 520 million copies worldwide. Here are some data that justify why so many people have decided to line up for the temporary shop in Milan

Perhaps not even a queue like this at the Fuorisalone. TO Milan last weekend many people decided to spend hours and hours, arming themselves with a lot of patience, to have the opportunity to visit the temporary shop in one piece, open in the Corso Como area (it will remain open to visitors until May 19th). The space was opened on the occasion of the 25th birthday of the mangaka’s creation Eiichiro Odathe author of the best-selling Japanese comic of all time.

The very nice Straw Hat together with his crew have kept company with millions and millions of people all over the world, starting from manga and then leading to anime, video games and lastly in the series on Netflix. The comic is the best-selling in the world with 521 million of copies and the story is continuing after more than two decades.

Less than a year ago the subscribers of Netflix have found the first season of the live action dedicated to Oda’s masterpiece in bookstores: the streaming giant has invested 144 million dollars for the eight episodes available so far alone. The figure – to give an idea – exceeds by 40 million that spent to make all anime in the last two decades.
