ANCONA After almost 4 years, the restaurant of the Pietralacroce tennis center reopens, now managed by the Ancona Tennis Club. It will be called Match Point, and it couldn’t have been otherwise given the sporting use of the structure. It bears the signature of a guru of the city’s restaurant industry such as Dalmazio Rossi, former owner of the Cantinetta del Conero. The reopening brings sociality back to the Tennis Center which is carrying out a radical makeover, in compliance with the management received from the Municipality in 2022, after a period of temporary assignment since May 2019 following the closure of the facility in 2018.

Development

The club, directed by president Paolo Mazzarini, is in full expansion: it has 180 members, with great ideas and projects. And the restaurant represents an important piece. Located in a panoramic area, which extends across the whole of Ancona, it consists of approximately 200 m2 of surface area with 120 seats enclosed in a large window that overlooks the city. The restyling was carried out by architect Sergio Roccheggiani of the Brau studio. «We are leaving with great enthusiasm – says Dalmazio Rossi, who will be at the notary today for the deed and will soon announce the opening date -. We have finally resolved the various bureaucratic problems and are ready to present ourselves to the citizens and tennis users (club members will have a 10% discount, ed.). Our proposal is for complete catering, with particular attention to quality. There will also be a pizzeria and a bar, to meet everyone’s needs. The location is very beautiful. The important thing is to start, then we will evaluate any changes along the way according to customer needs. We believe in it. I’m meeting people from Ancona at Math Point, but not only them. The restaurant will be closed on Monday.”

The enthusiasm

Paolo Mazzarini, president of the Ancona Tennis Club, is also enthusiastic. «With the restaurant we add an important element to the renovation of the plant which costs a lot, given that from the approximately 500 thousand euro investment foreseen in the tender, when fully operational we will go to 1,600,000 euro – he says -. But we believe it and that’s okay. So far we have purchased new balls to cover the fields, 6 out of 7 in total, we have redone all the external lighting, the fields, the fence. After the restaurant we will think about the perimeter walls, the reconstruction of the steps of the central field, the arrangement of the room below and then the complete renovation of the club house with bathrooms and changing rooms and the renovation of the heating plant”. The business is growing strongly. «We have a tennis school for children, directed by Giulia Cesari and for adults by Federico Mazzarini and Matteo Baldini who also support the competitive school directed by Luca Quintiliani – concludes the president -. Several of our teams participate in various championships.”
