Rome, 29 April. (askanews) – The government-union meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, took place at Palazzo Chigi. The discussion with the trade union organizations in view of the May 1st celebration served to deepen the executive’s interventions for the world of work. For the Government, present were the vice-president of the Council, Matteo Salvini and the ministers Raffaele Fitto, Marina Calderone, Adolfo Urso, the deputy minister Maurizio Leo and the undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano. the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti was via video link. For trade union organisations, CGIL, CISL, UIL, UGL, Cida, Cisal, Confentità, Confsal and Usb. At the table, the government indicated that the reform of cohesion policies will come to the Council of Ministers on Tuesday 30 April. The reform aims to accelerate the implementation of cohesion policies which provide for Italy, overall, 75 billion euros of which 43 billion of European resources. In particular, measures are envisaged to support the employment of young people, women and some categories of disadvantaged workers as well as specific provisions to support the creation of new businesses in the South and Center-North.
