«Only today, in the last ordinary session of the City Council, we were given a copy of President Biondi’s final report, improperly attributed to the Special Commission for Investigation and Study on the Flood Emergency – say the councilors of the Democratic party -. «It is a report that cannot be considered representative of the Commission’s thinking as it was written without cross-examination with the members of the Commission and, even in the City Council, on such an important topic and on work that lasted 12 sessions it was limited the debate to only one intervention on each side».
«The conclusions of the report according to which no shortcomings on the part of the Municipal Administration had been “detected, on the occasions we had for verification and analysis” – the Dems continue – not only do they not represent us but they are definitely to be rejected because they are contrary to the truth of the facts which emerged on several occasions during the work of the Commission. In particular, in the sessions of 24 August 2023 and 22 March 2024 (the recordings of which are in the records and always available for consultation) the reports of the representatives of the Mud Victims Committee and those of various Coordinators of the Neighborhoods affected by the flood should be highlighted, who noted numerous critical issues attributable to the management of the emergency by the Municipality of Forlì, collecting reports directly from offended and exasperated citizens».
«To these reports must be added the results of the session of 5 December 2023 in which the entire inadequacy of the Civil Protection Plan emerged as well as its incomplete implementation by this Administration, with coordination gaps which have had heavy repercussions on the citizens and on the citizens of Forlì in the affected areas, despite the great and moving effort of the intervention forces and many volunteers. In today’s only intervention by the majority, we even reached the point of the absurd accusation that the responsibility for the cancellation of the last session of the Flood Commission, which occurred due to the absence of the Lega and Fratelli d’Italia councillors, lies with blame us councilors present, instead of those who are culpably absent. Rarely, in these five years, have we witnessed such a clumsy attempt to overturn reality, but we are confident that citizens will be able to distinguish in this little theater those who have been absent and deaf to requests and needs in recent months, and those who have instead been able to show sensitivity, attention and closeness to people and businesses» conclude the councilors of the Democratic Party of Forlì.
