Porsche 911, the new generation with hybrid traction is arriving

Porsche is preparing for the debut of the new 911. The most iconic model of the German company is in the development and testing phase and will adopt, for the first time, a hybrid drive. The brand has chosen this approach to offer its customers a significant increase in performance without changing the typical driving experience.

As revealed by Frank MoserVice President of the 911 and 718 Model Line: “For the first time in the 61-year history of our icon, we are installing a hybrid drive system in a road-going 911. These innovative hybrid performances will make the 911 even more dynamic”.

The spokesperson for the Stuttgart company confirmed that the company left nothing to chance. The new 911 was tested in all types of conditions and on roads all over the world. In this way, the car was able to experience scorching heat and freezing cold without the slightest problem.

Porsche is completing the development of the new 911 hybrid by setting a new internal record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife

Also regarding the thrust of the engine, the technicians wanted to test its performance both on the track and on the road. In total, Porsche said the tests achieved and exceeded more than five million kilometers of driving.

The most challenging test, however, is the one on the track. The new Porsche 911 has brilliantly surpassed the challenge offered by the Nürburgring Nordschleife Circuit. On the German track, known to enthusiasts as the Green Inferno, the car he beat by 8.7 seconds the time established by the previous generation.

The over 20 kilometers of the route were completed in 7:16.934 minutes. The Porsche 911 that set this internal record was equipped with standard street tires and the fixed rear wing available as an option. The presence of standard components further underlines the increase in performance deriving from the dynamic and aerodynamic qualities of the new generation as well as from an improved engine. Furthermore, the hybrid traction ensures greater grip and, therefore, better cornering.

The new hybrid Porsche 911 will be officially revealed on May 28th. It will be possible to follow the launch conference on all the company’s official channels starting from 3.00 pm.
