Renovation of Piazza Moro and Via Repubblica. A public meeting to talk about it – News – A window always open on Bitonto
Descriptive text here

Our city is preparing for an important step towards the future of its mobility and urban liveability with the imminent opening of the “Learning from the Lama” construction site, which will involve via Repubblica, piazza Moro and the first stretch of via Matteotti. A period of changes which, on the one hand, will lead to a radical change, on the other will be an inevitable source of inconvenience and critical issues for activities, due to the works.

For this reason, as Confcommercio Bitonto, an association led by the representative Cristina Lovascio, always close to the merchants, a category already affected by various factors of difficulty, we thought of uniting all the actors involved in this moment of change, to bring out doubts and hesitations related to the new construction site, to at least avoid damage being caused and, instead, lay the foundations for adopting shared strategies in order to mitigate the inconveniences.

The meeting will take place on April 30th at 3.30pm, inside the parish hall of the Church of San Francesco (entrance via Repubblica). The meeting will be attended by the mayor, the councilors with delegations to the branch, the designers and the representatives of the company that won the tender and will carry out the works.

The “Learning from the Lama” project, financed by the Pnrr with 5 million euros, aims to renovate some of the most significant road arteries of our city, including via Repubblica, piazza Aldo Moro and via Matteotti (in the stretch that ends on piazza Aldo Moro). This ambitious plan aims to revitalize the heart of our city life, with particular attention to our squares, through a new management of urban mobility. The objective is to encourage cycle-pedestrian mobility, promoting innovative management of urban greenery, with the aim of consolidating the link between our historical-cultural heritage and the nature that surrounds us.
