CIVITANOVA There is a drug deal behind the fire at a bed and breakfast in Santa Maria Apparente in recent days. The men from the Civitanova police station shed light on the clearly malicious and intimidating gesture. The author discovered: a young woman resident in the Fermo area set the fire. She had used a petrol can by sprinkling the fuel on the synthetic turf of the garden of the accommodation facility, up to the entrance door of the courtyard. Two guests had been staying here for a few days. They were the ones who should have given drugs to the young woman. This is what was reconstructed by the officers.

The story

The incident dates back to a Friday evening two weeks ago. An episode that had caused alarm, not only among the owners of the holiday home, who were completely strangers and, indeed, victims of the act, but throughout the city. What happened was reconstructed with the help of the municipal video surveillance system. Through cameras on public roads, the woman believed to be responsible for the fire was traced. The young woman, with no criminal record, was then identified and then interviewed by the investigators. She then admitted her responsibilities, describing what happened. The young woman apparently went to the facility, where at that time two people convicted of drug-related crimes were staying, in order to accompany a friend to buy drugs. Once inside the rented apartment, however, the deal had collapsed and revealed itself to be a scam, and the young woman would have insisted on having the money already advanced for the exchange returned. When the other party refused, she walked away and returned with a can of petrol which she poured onto the lawn and the door of the building, then igniting everything with a lighter. The small fire was immediately put out by the residents who had in the meantime alerted the firefighters.

The investigations

The young woman was reported for damage (article 635 of the penal code) and fire (article 423). The police work, however, has not yet been exhausted in relation to this case. Further investigations into the implicated individuals are underway. Already in the minutes following the fire, the forensic police intervened to investigate the case while the officers interrogated the owners and guests. The damage mainly affected the synthetic grass in the courtyard and part of the door, which was blackened. The flames, due to the fireproof nature of the covering, did not spread. However, when the petrol burned, it caused very high flames, even if they did not last long, which alarmed everyone.
