MILAN – Due to the strong wind that hit yesterday, Tuesday 16 April, at least a hundred emergency calls reached the Fire Brigade switchboard in Via Messina on the city of Milan and its hinterland.

The interventions carried out so far for various emergencies have been 54: falling branches, unsafe cornices, uncovered roofs, awnings and various signs. Their activities were concentrated in all areas of Milan, in particular in the southern area.
Worrying episode in Cinisello
There are currently 46 other interventions waiting to be disposed of. In addition to the serious episode that occurred in Cinisello Balsamo, where a wooden plank fell from the roof of an eight-storey building seriously injuring a 28-year-old, no other accidents involving people have been recorded.
