“With respect to the fuss raised over the decision to move two municipal employees – for a few hours a week – to the Budget sector to allow the branch manager to work more quickly on the missing financial instruments, I believe it is necessary to make some clarifications. Meanwhile, I turn to the CISL FP union, which has most likely been misinformed about what is happening. Not only does my decision not have any punitive purpose (what would be the punishment then?) but it aims to enhance two workers who will be reused even if they are bypassed in sectors they have already covered in the recent past. Workers who, since I took office, have been valued for their skills. The choice therefore could only fall on them.
I also deny that there are tense relations with the unions, or that there are even clashes over the path to follow to obtain the stabilization of temporary staff. We will therefore provide the necessary clarifications to CISL FP and invite everyone to do their part to achieve this result. In this sense, I can only take note of how this affair was managed by the opposition in the city council, starting with its president, who claimed – together with others – to be able to decide on the destination of these workers.
I say it clearly: the time when councilors went around offices promising promotions and moves is over. Proof of the council’s interest in the future of these workers is the fact that after having torn their clothes, for the third time they have caused the quorum to fall on the approval of the 2019 consolidated financial statement, one of the budgets necessary to provide for the stabilization of temporary workers”.
