The student from Viareggio Francesco Francini wins the regional phase of the Anpit scholarship

The student of the Barsanti and Matteucci scientific high school in Viareggio, Francesco Francini, after having won the provincial scholarship with his essay on artificial intelligence, also won the regional selection of ANPIT, thus winning one thousand euros.

The Anpit (National Association for Industry and Tertiary) scholarship was awarded by the regional president, Antonella Scrima, to the student right in his classroom at the Viareggio scientific high school, in front of the professors and his classmates. A location that was strongly supported by Anpit to encourage young people to study and commit themselves in order to achieve their goals, both personal and on a social level.

Francesco Francini’s essay on the theme “Changes” was selected among all the winning papers at the provincial level and will now participate in the national selection, where the winner will receive a scholarship worth 5 thousand euros.

Antonella Scrima, regional Anpit president, congratulates Francesco Francini with these words: “I thank the institute that welcomed us and this initiative that we went to reward today. An opportunity that was given to the children to express themselves on the technological changes that are now the order of the day and occur in an increasingly shorter period of time. Francesco achieved the objective by illustrating how both artificial intelligence and other high-tech machinery must support humanity in everyday life. Nothing can replace humanity and the emotions that can be had between human beings, so all these new technologies must serve to support man in his development and not replace him. We as Anpit focus a lot on kids, their training and their development because they are the future.”

“This experience united us with the scholastic reality with which we decided to undertake a training and orientation path. Our association focuses a lot on young people and we local managers are proud to belong to and be able to do something for this reality”, explains the provincial president of Anpit Lucca, Delfina Caparelli.

Francesco Francini, who attends the fourth Barsanti and Matteucci scientific high school, having received the award, commented: “I am honored to receive this award at a regional level with the essay regarding the changes brought about in our lives by the use of artificial intelligence. In the essay I started from Darwin to analyze the various aspects of human evolution up to the current changes where evolution should proceed together with these new technologies. In fact, artificial intelligence can help man to carry out various operations very quickly, but as far as the emotional sphere is concerned, it must always be man who decides with his humanity and sensitivity”.

Therefore, I thank Professor Martini, Professor Franceschini and Professor Bascherini for the commitment shown to this end, as well as the principal Silvia Barbara Margherita Gori and the Anpit association. Congratulations again to Francesco Francini for the excellent work done, with the hope of also winning the national scholarship.”
