The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile of Perugia and of the Ponte San Giovanni station intervened in the historic center where several young people had been reported by residents, in via Mattioli, kicking parked cars, damaging vehicles and urinating in the street.

The military tracked down seven boys, including three minors who attempted to escape into the nearby streets, but were stopped and found in possession of objects, including some gold jewellery, whose possession they were unable to justify. The young people were taken, together with some agents from the Perugia Police Headquarters, to the Provincial Headquarters of the Carabinieri.

The investigations made it possible to establish that those arrested were the perpetrators of at least two residential burglaries perpetrated shortly before in the historic center area. Part of the stolen goods was recognized and returned to the victims, while for the remaining objects recovered, further checks are underway to trace their respective owners.

One of those arrested, a 23-year-old Tunisian, without a fixed abode, was burdened by an expulsion order issued by the Police Commissioner of Perugia on January 2nd, which is why he was accompanied to the Ponte Galeria Repatriation Permanence Center in Rome.

All seven arrested were charged with the crime of residential burglary.
