Edoardo Galli has been found, the sixteen-year-old who disappeared from Colico was in Milan

Edoardo Galli was found on the morning of Friday 29 March at Milan Central Station. The sixteen-year-old boy had moved away from home to Colico, in the province of Lecco, a week ago, Thursday 21 March.

His story had a lot of space in the newspapers, on social media and on TV thanks also to Who has seen?, a woman thus recognized him towards 7.40 on Friday morning, while he was buying a ticket at the automatic machines. The passenger alerted the railway police who approached the boy who she immediately admitted he was Edoardo Galli. According to what the Corriere della Sera, the young man allegedly told the officers that he was buying a ticket to return home to his parents in Colico. Edoardo would be in good health but, according to the investigators, he would not have been in Milan in the last few days but he would have returned to take the train home. Now the police will try to reconstruct what he did in the last week and track down the people who helped him.

In the last few hours, a video dating back to last Thursday, the day of his disappearance, in which he was seen, had been released Edoardo Galli getting off a train at 9.40am together with other commuters. He was recognized by his denim jacket and red backpack. The cameras caught him while walking among the shops in the station stopping for an ice cream. Suddenly another person appears who the boy seems to know, the two speak calmly and then walk away. These images were useful to disprove the hypothesis initially thought of an escape to the mountains as a sort of survival test. Like every morning, the boy left the house in Colico where he lives with his father Alessandro, his mother Natalia of Russian origins and his younger sister, to take the train to Morbegno where he attends high school. Once he arrived at his destination he left on another train heading towards Milan. Where he actually got off.

In an interview with Corriere della Sera the father had said that the investigators had discovered that the boy had searched on the computer for information on how to survive at high altitude without water and food. Once I realized that he had also taken the sleeping bag, the hypothesis that he had gone to the mountains had started to spread. “It wouldn’t surprise me if he tried to cross the borders,” the father said, underlining how he had been shocked by the war in Ukraine. “He had been to Russia several times with his grandparents. But he is a pacifist” he added to distance the idea that he might have left to fight.

If for the story of Edoardo Galli the happy ending has arrived, there are two more girls missing since the morning of March 27th. Michelle Carlucci, 12 years old, and her friend Sofia Rivera Alvares, 13 years old they disappeared from Alfonsine and Cotignola, in the province of Ravenna, both although accompanied by their parents to school, did not enter class. Perhaps the two girls went to Naples to visit a girl they had met some time before, Sofia’s cell phone would have connected to a cell near Naples. But the two girls did not arrive at the home of this supposed friend.
