COSENZA Gianluca Masters has decided – at the beginning of 2024 – to collaborate with justice. Involved in the proceedings resulting from the investigation “Reset” – against the Cosenza ‘Ndrangheta – Maestri is also involved in the investigation “Athena“. This morning, during the preliminary hearing, the prosecutor of the Catanzaro DDA Alessandro Riello filed the collaboration reports of the Cosenza repentant: considered promoter and organizer of the “Gypsies” associationstrategically close to Gennaro Presta.
The extortions
It is January 11, 2024 when Maestri answers prosecutor Riello’s questions. The omitted parts are substantial and present a nice report, but the repentant still offers relevant investigative insights. Regarding the attempted extortion of L.Srl, the repentant declares himself “responsible” and adds: “I specify that Nicola Abbruzzese instructed me to make contact with Michele Di Puppo so that the acts of intimidation at the company and at the speed camera were committed at the same time. I also remember that there was a special meeting in Saporito di Rende between me, Nicola Abbruzzese and Michele Di Puppo aimed at organizing the details». The confession continues: «I was instructed to identify a third person who would carry out the intimidating acts and I turned to Ivan Barone (today repentant, ed) to whom I also provided the telephone number to call for the threatening phone call which was then carried out, a number which had been given to me by Michele Di Puppo”. Regarding Barone’s contribution, Maestri specifies: «He certainly made use of the collaboration of at least one other person, but I can’t say who it was because, as mentioned, I turned exclusively to him.»
Drug
On the chapter linked to drugs, the newly repentant says of «not being aware of the origin of the narcotic that I purchased in Cassano all’Ionio». On this point, the collaborator adds that he does not remember the direct “involvement of Maria Rosaria Masters» but that she was «fully aware of the drug trafficking activity that I was carrying out, just as she was aware of the involvement of Roberto Oliban and of Gennaro Presta». The woman, Maestri adds, during a search «had got rid of a scale and that, following Olibano’s arrest, I commented on what had happened with her and she said to me “I could have accompanied you to Cassano!”, by this meaning that she would have been available to carry out the conduct actually committed by Roberto.»
