The first American GP of the Formula 1 season is already starting to take on a yellow hue. This time, however, market intrigues or the now constant internal fibrillations within the Red Bull team have nothing to do with it. What is causing discussion instead is the politicsthe one with a capital ‘P’, since The presidential election campaign is in full swing in the United States next November. The Miami event, considered one of the most glamorous events of the year in the USA, will attract a huge number of wealthy spectators to the circuit and there are those who had thought of using the opportunity to launch the sprint for the candidate of the Republican party – and former president – Donald Trump.
Pro-Trump campaign
Indeed it seems that real estate investor Steven WitkoffTrump’s longtime friend, had thought of organize a fundraiser for Trump during the Miami GP weekendinviting the members of an exclusive golf club in South Florida he owns to spend the competition weekend with him in his Paddock Club Suite for the sum of $250,000 per ticket. This ‘plan’ was revealed by the Washington Post, who also explained how the race organizers sent a letter to Witkoff denying him the use of his suite. Witkoff’s invitation didn’t specifically mention that it was a fundraiser, but the event organizers evidently gathered enough evidence to prove otherwise and informed Witkoff of their decision on Friday.
Against the rules

The newspaper also explained that it contacted Witkoff on Friday evening. “This is definitely something fake“, replied the person concerned, refusing to comment further on the matter. At the moment the possibility persists that Trump will still be present at the event: The Washington Post reported that the secret services have contacted the organizers of the race to coordinate a possible visit by the former president, candidate for a second term.
