CELLINO SAN MARCO – Thanks to the funding of 35 thousand euros from the third line of intervention of the Pnrr – Department of Sport and social inclusion, Cellino San Marco is equipped with a park to promote sporting and recreational activities with an open-air gym. The inauguration is scheduled for Wednesday 1 May in Piazza Don Francesco Epifani.
“We understand sport as a vehicle for social inclusion – comments Mayor Marco Marra – a lever that is part of the objectives of our administration. It is an additional possibility for all citizens to use these places of social aggregation, providing a free sports service for the well-being and free time for all citizens. Some of the equipment present is dedicated to people with disabilities who will be able to use it as they wish. Another important step forward in the process of urban regeneration of the territory and social inclusion, the next one will be our sports hall of sport. I thank the municipal offices for their commitment to the realization of this important project”.
Sports councilor Davide Montinaro declares himself “largely satisfied with this further result achieved. A new opportunity for Cellino San Marco and for all citizens who will be able to use the outdoor gym without distinction, obtaining physical and health benefits. We try to protect this common good from uncivilized people and use the tools responsibly, as if it were a personal good.”
Present at the ribbon cutting will be the colonel of honor of the Italian army Carlo Calcagni, disability guarantor of the Municipality of Cellino San Marco and paralympic athlete with the golden podium. As he himself stated “Thanks to sport I have found the strength to move forward, facing and, above all, winning impossible cycling challenges. I am undermined by my “invisible enemy”, but sport supports me”.
Citizens and amateur sports associations present in the Cellino area and in neighboring towns are invited “to share this important moment for the whole community. We like to share this beautiful and very useful goal with everyone. We will give you a place where everyone can be involved and free to practice sporting and amateur activities.
