Arera, the regulatory authority for energy, networks and the environment, has extended to June 30, 2024 the deadline within which citizens and businesses affected by the May 2023 flood can request tariff concessions on electricity, gas, water and waste users.

Arera has in fact provided a series of concessions to be applied to users active on 1 May 2023, upon request of the owners, who must present specific request to merchants/managers.

Requirement for Household utilities will declare that the user is subservient to a home whose functional integrity has been compromisedon the basis of aeviction order, evacuation order or other suitable documentation.

The non-domestic users they will instead have to submit sworn or sworn appraisal with reference to the damages specified in the Arera resolution.

As regards the Tarithe benefit consists of one TARI reduction referring to the months of May, June, July, August, September and October 2023.

The benefit is applicable only on specific request of the users’ owners and whether the requirements predetermined in the Arera resolution exist.

To this end, under his own personal responsibility, including criminal responsibility in the event of false declarations, the owner of the user concerned must certify, using the appropriate forms:

• For the Household utilities That the user is subservient to a home whose functional integrity has been compromised, as a result of the flood events that occurred in May 2023 on the basis of an eviction order or an evacuation order or suitable documentation issued by the territorially competent Municipality;

• For the non-domestic users That the user is subservient to a location that has been compromised in its functional integrity as a result of the flood events that occurred in May 2023 based on a sworn or sworn appraisalwith reference only to the damages specifically indicated in the Arera resolution.
