COSENZA – Another serious road accident occurred on the Jonica state road 106 in the municipality of Villapianain the province of Cosenza. Eight people were injured, one seriously. Three cars were involved an Audi Q3, a Skoda and an Opel which, for reasons still under investigation, collided with each other near the junction for Villapiana Lido. The most serious injury is a woman who was transferred by air ambulance to the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza. The other injured were helped by the medics of the 11th8 and transferred to the hospitals of Trebisacce, Corigliano and Rossano. There are queues and slowdowns. The Carabinieri of the Cassano company and the agents of the Trebisacce highway intervened on site and carried out investigations to establish the causes of the accident.
Today was a tragic day on the roads of the province of Cosenza. On the state road 108 bis to Lorica, in the municipality of Casali del Manco a 37 year old man lost his life colliding with a car on a motorbike. For the accident it was a 40-year-old man arrested, positive for alcohol test. On the Silana-Crotonese state road 107, however, there were queues and slowdowns in the late afternoon (with almost four kilometers of queues) for a collision between two cars occurred in the municipality of Paola. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
