Last night the firefighters of the provincial command of Catania intervened for a road accident on the ring road of the Etna capital, in the direction of Syracuse, between the San Gregorio and Gravina di Catania junctions inside a tunnel. They remained in the violent impact three cars involved including a Fiat 500 with a 25-year-old pregnant girl inside, who got stuck between the sheets of metal and suffered fractures to the others underneath.
They were on board the other cars a lady with two children and three other people, including an elderly couple. The Fire Brigade team that intervened worked together with the health workers of the 118 Service to extract the girl from the sheets of metal. Three ambulances were called to the scene and transported the injured to hospital. Traffic Police and Anas personnel were present at the scene of the accident.
