FVG – The Region expresses its condolences and joins the family and employees of the group for the loss of Gianpietro Benedetti, a highly esteemed company leader and visionary entrepreneur.

In addition to leading the industrial group among the top three European steel producers for years, he has proudly shown commitment to his land by becoming its patron, engaging in the world of communication and also initiating numerous projects for the training of young people.

Under his presidency, ITS Malignani grew to train the super-technicians that the local economy needs: many projects that Benedetti has always shared with the regional administration with foresight.

This is the thought that the governor of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region expressed, expressing the regional administration’s condolences for the death of Gianpietro Benedetti.

Born in 1942, Benedetti, who joined Danieli in the 1960s, went from technical designer to managing director and president of one of the industrial groups with roots in FriuliVenezia Giulia, leader in the design and construction of steel plants, with over 8,600 employees worldwide, of which around 6,000 in region. Knight of Labor since 2006, two degrees and an honorary MBA diploma, he was also president of Confindustria Udine.

Upon hearing the news of Gianpietro Benedetti’s passing, the President of Confindustria FVG, Pierluigi Zamò, in addition to expressing his sincere condolences and his closeness to the family on behalf of CFVG, said he was «surprised and sorry; disappears – he added – a great protagonist of the economy of this area and internationally who – Zamò said again – had been able to bring the Danieli Group to levels of absolute excellence throughout the world. The news really surprised us, we were not aware of the serious health conditions. A great entrepreneur has died.”

«It was a sincere pain when I learned of the passing of Giampiero Benedetti» is the comment of Michelangelo Agrusti, President of Confindustria Alto Adriatico who adds: «Mao said that there are deaths that are light as feathers, others that weigh like boulders. With Giampiero Benedetti one of the greatest entrepreneurs in the industrial history of this land leaves. Visionary and capable of realizing his ambitious dreams. Certainly – he concluded – a huge loss for the industry and for the entire region and the country”.
