Six people were injured in the accident which this afternoon, March 28, involved a minibus for transporting disabled people in the Alto Sangro, between Alfedena and Villa Scontrone, in the province of L’Aquila. The vehicle, belonging to the Anffas association, went off the road and ended up going down an embankment, then stopping in a field a few meters from the roadway and overturning on its side. All the injured were transported to hospital. One of them, 60 years old, transferred to Sulmona, is in a reserved prognosis.

Causes to be clarified

The van was taking users home when it went off the road. The causes of the accident are still to be clarified and the Carabinieri are working on it. Four passengers, the driver – who was subjected to appropriate investigations – and an operator from the Anffas association were injured. 118 ambulances and the air ambulance intervened on site, together with the Carabinieri of the Castel di Sangro company, engaged in the investigations, and the firefighters to ensure safety.
