CIVITANOVA “The little goldfish” nursery by Santa Maria Apparente without elevator. Not a small problem, because the institute is located on the first floor of the municipal school in via Raffaello Sanzio. Therefore it is not only used by particular categories of people or employees, but is the main access route to the nursery. The alternative is an external staircase. The problem was reported by Mirella Paglialunga, municipal councilor of the Per Civitanova group and former school director. It’s not a recent problem.

The position

«The lift that makes the “Pesciolino d’Oro” nest accessible – explains Paglialunga – has been out of service for more than three months. The reasons for the failure are not known and no signs indicate maintenance work or certain times for its restoration. There is great discomfort for those who daily accompany the twenty-two children whose age varies from zero to three years. With the little ones in their arms, parents and grandparents have to climb more than thirty steps with great risk for both children and adults. In bad weather the danger becomes worse because the stairs are external and not repaired. Great inconvenience also for the kitchen staff who every day have to carry large containers of food upstairs for the little guests’ lunches.”

The situation

So a situation that has been going on for some time. The report to the press therefore comes after a lack of information on why that lift is not in operation. «We urge the municipal administration, owner of the building – concludes Mirella Paglialunga – to urgently intervene to restore the functionality of the lift and make the “Il piolino d’oro” nursery accessible from the day the educational activity resumes, after the holidays of Easter”. A situation, therefore, for which we ask not only for a quick solution but also for information on what happened to that elevator. In the nursery sector, this is the year of a real revolution thanks to the Pnrr funds. In fact, work is underway for the construction of two new structures, in the Micheletti area and in San Marone, and the redevelopment of two others, the buildings in via Regina Elena and via Saragat. An investment of approximately nine million euros. Precisely to deal with the closure of the two nurseries affected by the works, two temporary locations have been prepared, one in the former elderly student home in via Mandela and the other in the primary school in via Saragat.
