MESTRINO (PADUA) – The Bonollo Distilleries Umberto, a century-old Paduan company, has announced the passing away of Antonio Bonollo87 years old, third generation of the family and a fundamental pillar in the history of the distillery of which he was a member of the board of directors. Known to all as “Tonino”, Antonio Bonollo, always supported by his wife Luciana, has dedicated over 70 years to the art of distilling and today leaves his legacy of commitment and passion to his son Luigi and daughters Anna and Laura who are part of the fourth generation of the family.

Master distiller of exceptional talent and a man of extraordinary energy, Tonino was always present in the company, working closely with all the people: his philosophy was that the company should be treated like a family, a principle that has inspired and motivated entire generations of workers and collaborators. His tireless commitment and dedication to work among the stills with the aim of raising the quality of Bonollo spirits; crucial was his improvement of the double distillation technique implemented in a pioneering perspective together with his brothers Giuseppe, Dario and Bruno starting from the 70s of the last century. Strengthened by his passion for making grappa, inherited from his grandfather Giuseppe, founder of the company, he has always been able to enhance the best of tradition by sharpening his ingenuity and aiming for innovation. Tonino played a crucial role in the development of the Conselve distillery, contributing to the creation of the modern Bonollo Single System which, combining over a century of expertise and innovation, encompasses the management of all phases of the process: from the selection of the marc to the flexible distillation, which allows for the production of spirits with an unparalleled sensorial character, all the way to the valorization of by-products in a fully circular economy perspective. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 10:30 in the church of Mestrino.
