After having already given the community a blast from the past with the OG Season, Epic Games surprises players again Fortnite announcing ‘Reload‘, a new Battle Royale mode that scales and modifies the iconic Chapter 1 map.

The arrival of this new mode was almost a shock for the Fortnite fanbase, since no information about its existence was leaked in advance, despite the roadmap for 2024 having been leaked in April. Players will gain access to it starting from tomorrow, June 22nd, and they will be able to try yet another variation on the theme of Fortnite Battle Royale, for what appears to be in all respects a new permanent mode. Looking at the official presentation trailer, we can confirm the names of six main areas of Reloadsome of which are quite familiar: Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park, Retail Row, Lil’ Loot Lake, Lazy Labs, and Sandy Sheets.

Epic describes the mode as “a place of great energy and forgiveness”, alluding to the gameplay focused on the rebirth of players which are temporarily eliminated. In short, it would seem that the modality is somehow inspired by Call of Duty Warzone Returnswhich resizes its battlefield and allows operators to redeploy for a good part of the game.
