Elden Ring recovers many players on Steam: it’s the Shadow of the Erdtree effect

Elden Ring is back to doing great numbers on Steam in recent days. FromSoftware’s title never really disappeared from the top levels of the most played rankings, but in recent months it had steadily dropped below 80,000 contemporary players and had appeared more rarely in the top 10. Now, however, thanks to the Shadow of the Erdtree effect, he started grinding out big numbers againreaching peaks of contemporary players exceeding 130,000 units.

Growing

More precisely, at the time of writing this news it has 137,301 contemporary players and is in ninth position among the most played on Steam, positioned between Source SDK Base 2007 and Rust. Of course, we are not at Banana levels of hysteria and we are far from the maximum peak recorded by the game two years ago of 953,426 players, but it is still an excellent basis for the success of its first and apparently only expansionarriving June 20.

The number of Elden Ring players is growing

Sales are also excellent, as far as we can understand: currently Elden Ring is third in the global Steam rankings, immediately above Black Myth: Wukong and below Counter-Strike 2 and PUBG: Battlegrounds. So it’s the first among the titles sold at a premium price (costs €59.99). Considering that there are no current offers regarding it, it is an excellent result. Shadow of the Erdtree, however, is in sixth position. Also in this case there are no offers, but the starting price is different, given that we are talking about €39.99. So the number of copies sold could be similar or higher (Steam charts consider revenue).
