The piece by the professor. Gaetano Azzariti on Republic today is extraordinary. In fact, the constitutionalist tells us that we lost the Constitution of ’48 because of the reform of the premiership that his friends on the left wanted in the past. The point is that these intellectuals have remained in the clipboard of the Constitutions and would like governments to count for nothing, but thank goodness this paralyzed Italy has no longer existed for a few years.
You then understand what we are talking about when you read that according to Azzariti we lose the Constitution of ’48 because of theabolition of senators for life. I’ll tell you right away, for me abolishing them is a big blunder even from a tactical point of view given that this right-wing Parliament will probably elect its own President of the Republic. They would have finally had the chance to reward some of their own as the left has always done, but they want to abolish senators for life.
Let’s return to Azzariti’s interview because it deserves. Listen to what he wrote: “The abolition of senators for life shows how uneducated our politicians are”. And here the donkey falls. It’s the reason why every time I go to dinner in Milan I say I voted for Vannacci, not because it’s true (I do a job for which it’s best to keep your feelings confidential) but for the sake of seeing their faces when I say it . Now saying “I voted for Vannacci” is like blaspheming in church. Now Meloni has gone out of fashion, no one is scandalized anymore, not even the radical chic. Then, if you think about it, the term “radical chic” is definitely overused: these people are neither rich nor chic, they are just radical.
In short, these professors who explain to us that the right is uneducated because it wants the abolition of the senator for life is something that drives me crazy.
