Dragami Games has finally shown the first trailer and images of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOPthe re-release with updated graphics of Suda51’s action based on cheerleaders and zombies originally published in 2012. The release date has also been announced, scheduled for September 25th on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

According to official details, the game will be sold at the price of $49.99, which we assume will turn into 49.99 euros. It will initially only be available in digital format, with physical copies to follow in October, with more information on the matter to be revealed at a later date. On the localization side, dubbing in English and Japanese has been confirmed, while the texts will be available in multiple languages, including Italian.

Details on the “remake”

The official press release from Dragami Games states that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a remake (although there had previously been talk of a remaster) which will be faithful to the spirit of the original, but with a series of improvements on the gameplay and content side, as well as a modernized graphics section.

In particular, the game’s resolution has been increased to full HD and loading times have been reduced. The actions with the chainsaw of the protagonist Juliet have been speeded up thanks to the Chained Hits mechanic, which increases the speed of the hits by chaining together multiple attacks. Furthermore, to accommodate player feedback, the timing for Combo Action impunts has been improved and an auto-lock and auto-fire has been added for the Chainsaw Blaster, which can now store 99 ammo.

Furthermore, “RePOP Mode” has been added, which brings new unique and colorful pop art style visuals for shot effects, skins for Juliet’s chainsaw and we will find 30 costumes to unlock, many more than those present in the original game, and four new colors for the protagonist’s hairstyle. Additionally, Juliet’s room has been enriched with new features, yet to be revealed, and a ranked “Time Attack” mode has been added for players to test themselves with.
